Electric Windows on 1989 Carrera Targa

Hello, Happy New Year to all. Looking for some advice?

The passenger side window has ceased working from both switches. The driver's side works OK.
If i understand correctly a single fuse (No.1 in luggage compartment) and a single relay (Relay no. 2) serves both windows? I see that this subject was raised in 2007 on this forum but thought other thoughts may have come to light since? Automotive electrics is not my best subject!

The passenger side window has always operated much slower than the driver's side so apart from a possible electrical fault something probably needs easing/lubricating.

On the assumption that i will be needing to remove the door panel to investigate - is this a straight forward task?

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Thank you

Tim

Hi Tim

The exact same problem happened to mine,my problem was simple to solve the problem being a disconnected wire which goes from the front wing into the passenger door, when you open the door you should be able to see if the connection is connected together, this is located where the door hinge is.(no need to remove door card)

Best Regards

Hello Tim

Prize out the switch from the door card on the back of the switch are 5 terminal's the top one is No3 and RED power all the time check to see if you have it, the two in the middle are No1-2 they go to the motor see if they power up when you operate the switch, do both switches to that door report back.

Testing of switches as Charles suggested has solved the problem? I did clean up the contacts a bit so suspect there was a poor contact.
Is there a way of lubricating things on the window mechanism without removing the door card?
Thank you Tim
