electric windows, relays and fuses..

does anyone have a link to or a list of relays and fuses they can post for me? I have the manual that lists them, but its in french, and I spent most of my french lessons at school looking out of the window and dreaming about porsches [;)]

Im looking for information on electric windows as the driver-side window in my car is in-operable; Im going to try and trouble shoot it while the weathers nice. I can't see anything in the list thats obviously related to windows, but Im guessing there will be a relay for each window, and one fuse for both (the passenger side window works fine from both switches so im assuming if this is the case the fuse for the windows is fine)

Im guessing there may also be a limit switch top and bottom on the mechanism somewhere to prevent the motor burning out at the top and bottom of the glass's stroke, and so if one of these switches is stuck closed this may also stop power getting to the motor. There doesnt appear to be a limit on the sunroof though, so I might be off track here..

My plan of attack is to swap switches, check fuses and relays, and check power to the motor.. if I dont find the culprit after that I will be back to pester further!..

if anyone has a list, or can just direct me to the right fuse/relay number Id be grateful...

thanks in advance

Ben,

This might not be much help but I already tried swapping switches and it still didn't work. At that point - when I had the door stripped right down - I had a bit of an emergency at work and had to throw it all back together so I could use the car pronto!

Fuse 4 in the luggage compartment feeds the power window regulator relay (R22) but it appears to feed both the passanger and the drivers electric window so I doubt that is the route of your problem.

From the wiring diagram I have it looks like it is either a wiring, switch or motor fault if it is not relay 22 so it's time to take the door panel off and check supplies if swaping the switches does not fix it.

I've read reports of winder motor assembly failures but I would persue the electrical fault first.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Cheers

I lost the drivers window once. I was told to try the fuses and it did not fix it. I was also told to hit the silver 'wotsit' (showing my techie side there) with a heavy'ish tap as it often sorted it out. That worked. (Silver thingy, is in fuse box, 1inch tall, round at top).

For help call your local OPC or indie for help. If they can't sort it send me a mail and I will give you the number of mine.
