Electric wing mirror malfunction

Hi all,

Small hitch with the N/S wing mirror.

All four directions work on the O/S i.e. up, down, left and right, but only 'right' works on the N/S. Clearly its not the switch itself, as neither side would work.

Any suggestions on where I should dismantle first, and checks thereafter?

Cheers ears.

Check if the driver motors aren't stuck.
Just push the glass by hand till it's in the center position.

Check that there's not a break in the loom at the A post. Wiring is notoriously brittle and often fractures just where the loom exits the A post as it passes into the door. Guess why I know??

Seems odd that only "right" works and not "left". There are only two motors. The horizontal one just reverses for left/right.

It's easy to remove the mirror assembly from the doors (so you can swap them around on the car to do some more diagnosis). Mirror unplugs from loom at a plug that can be pulled an inch or two out of the door. You need some sticky tape to hand to stop the loom from falling down inside the door....
