Electrical fault??

Don't know if anyones experienced this problem but my cayenne seems to be having a nervous breakdown and I'm really not that bad at driving! [:)] My hazards come on and go off sporadically, my headlights turn themselves on and off when they feel like it, (not good when driving down dark roads in the snow!) and the fans don't work at all now. It's sort of taking the fun out of driving so any advice greatfully appreciated, Thanks

Thought it was that a few months ago after it wouldn't start and wouldn't give me my key back, so I bought a new battery, do you think it could it maybe be some sort of connection fault in where the battery is?

Worth checking Cate but it is under passenger seat and a pain
Read up the various threads on the battery. They do not like standing around
especially if you do not lock the car.If you have not binned the old battery
keep it and charge it up as a spare there may be nothing wrong with it .
It could be you smashing up kerbs at 70 MPH shaking the battery up ! !
You may have to take the car in to have it reset in some way,
Somebody here will know of an independent in your area that can plug
it into the diagnostic box cheaper than OPC .

Oi!! It was the kerb that jumped out and attacked me, I resent your implication lol, thanks tiskev. You wouldn't know if there's somewhere on here that lists independents do you? Or should I create a post asking where to find one locally?

There must be one in your area If nobody here knows of one
try googling Independant Porsche Servicing or something similar
Meantime there may be one in the Porsche Post or listed here in one of ther other
sections .I know just how annoying it is as my screen often tells me the brake is on
or this or that but it has been good of late which i put down to keeping a trickle
charger connected all the while it is standing around Patience i fear. When i took mine in they
could find nothing wrong. but they reset a few times and now keeping fingers crossed .

Hi Cate,

Have you tried asking the Porsche Centre in Colchester what might be wrong? They are likely to have seen such problems before. Although they may be expensive, a phone call for advice is free! Ask to speak to Andy Welch - he is the man with many years of experience in the Service Dept. 01206 855500. IF it is not a battery power issue then a Porsche diagnostic test must surely be the best way to trace the fault.
