Electrical Problem

I have an electrical problem on my 1990 964C2.basically the battery can be fully charged over about three days and has been tested to verify its condition. As soon as i connect it to the car it discharges in a matter of hours to the point when you cannot get the ignition lights when you turn the key.
Like i said, the battery has been proved ok ,the alternator is giving out around 13.9 -14vdc.I connected my digital multimeter in line with the battery positive lead to see what the discharge current is,but cannot get any current flow reading,
I have also found a small black box which is not an original Porsche fitting tucked behind the carpet in the passenger footwell, this box is about 3" square and 1" thick with a red LED and two small plugs on one side of the box there is also a relay which was clicking on and off furiously, i have stopped it operating by removing an inline type fuse by the nearside bonnet hinge.I cannot trace any of the wiring which is also not Porsche quality loom far enough to find out what this box is for,- any idea's anyone ?I did wonder if it was for a fitted carphone which had gone before I bought the car.
Anyway have removed the fuse for this to see if the battery still gets drained again.
Hope someone might have some idea or had something similar in their car.

Regards

Steve
