Electrical problem

When I switch on the ignition in my S.C. the dashboard left & right indicators glow dimly. If I turn the indicator to the left, the < > lights flash alternately, the left one brighter than the other. I have checked all of the wiring to the front, back and side repeaters and all seems o.k.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem can be?

Sounds like an earth issue. I thnik you have a leak somewhere behind the clocks to earth.

Hi bones,

Thank you very much. I took the rev counter out and removed and replaced all connectors, it has cured the problem. Most importantly, the car saled through it's MOT this morning.

Wow that's a quick result, glad it was nothing more. When you get a minute it's a good idea to check and clean every electrical contact on the car and replace all the fuses, (Halfords) or online at

if this has never been done your electrical system is compromised on a car of this age.
