My 993 4S still has an electrical gremlin. I resorted to having a battery isolator fitted as the battery would always be flat after 24/ 48 hours without it.

Last night forgot to isolate battery and when entered garage this morning car was listening to the cricket !! with both interior lights on, despite all doors etc. been closed. Anbody out there have a clue as to what can be the cause of these circuits coming on. Hamilton and Palmer say it can't be there PA1000 immmobiliser.

Hi James

I had a similar problem but not with my Porsche, I put a different type of isolator on the battery, the one I used only isolates the battery if the voltage drops below a defined level and only then do you have to reset the system, this means you actively don't have to switch the power off it is done automatically, this makes sure you always have power to start the car, hope this helps, doesn't solve the circuit problem though.

If anything electrical has been fitted/disturbed recently then that will be the cause=Radio/alarm etc.
Otherwise i have known a radio to develop a fault which causes similar problems.
If you put a multimeter across the battery terminals, you should see the volts slowly dropping....take the fuse out of the Radio circuit,or disconnect it and test again to see if the drop continues.
You can do this with a lot of the fuses and it may point you to the right area.

Other than that you will have to get a auto electrician.

Thank you. Two Auto electricians have looked at it and neither have found fault. Had the radio out of the car for 3 weeks and it still did it.

Thanks for the tip re the intelligent isolator. Tried a battery maintainer but this did not keep it charged up as I guess the drain was too large.

May be leave the Becker on 'Navi' . This way Freddie and the boys may be able to steer their way out of trouble or if not the Ashes could find their way back !!

Dont know if it has anything to do with it,but it may be worth checking.
I heard there was a recall years ago regarding part of the wiring loom(engine end)....my 1995 c2 has been checked and was done.
I dont know what the problem was,but it might be worth checking out.

Hi James,
I'd definately be interested in what current draw you are getting with 'everything' off.
I still havent got to the bottom of my problems with the battery going flat/alarm going off, (
