I had the same problem with my 987 a few months ago but that was caused by the lambda sensor being damaged when the tubi exhaust was fitted. I understand that they are fairly sensitive so yours may have just had it.

Hi guys,
Jumped in the car after work tonight to find the Emission Control warning light lit.
The car is running very well and doesn't sound or feel any different. Can anyone offer any wisdom as to what this could mean? The car is one of the last 986 S's and has a full porsche service history (serviced 8 weeks ago) and no history of any problems.
Porsche warranty runs out tomorrow..... [&:]
Cheers,
Lee

Cheers guys. Heading to Porsche Centre Glasgow today so hopefully see what's going on. The light hasn't been on since I parked on Friday night so I'm hoping it's maybe a fault with the light or the sensor is faulty as MHAK suggested.
