Emissions Printout

Well, had the Mot done today, sailed through[:D], I looked at the emissions printout and the Idle HC was 154, the limit is 1200 ppm, the CO is 2,27 and the limit is 3.5.
I presume HC is Hydrocarbons ie soot.
This seems a low figure for a big old engine, but I am not going to worry.(or should I )
Also had 4 litres of Swepco poured in the gearbox for good measure, on the basis it is better to be safe than sorry. I shall be interested to see if it has any noticeable effect.
Another expensive piece of paper to go with the new tax disc.......

I hope not it. Only takes 2 litres and over filling it is verbotten. If you were charged for 4 litres, I would prize the other two litres of oil out of the serviceman with the alloy jack handle (not cheap that Swepco stuff). There again if you did it yourself like I did it... 2 litres into the gearbox and two litres onto the floor, up your arm, in your face, down your neck, on the exhaust, front door, staircase, bathroom door (you get the picture).....
 
Yes, I just checked the handbook and its says 2 litres, maybe he made a mistake when he told me how much he put in. It was £35 worth anyway, would that be right for 2 litres?? Now I'm worried.
 
Swepco only comes in US quart containers (which is about 3.8 litres for £33, so most people who change it themselves have a litre and a bit left over.

There have been many clandestine Swepco Swapping Soirees where owners of nearly empty containers get together to decant the dregs into a full container and then dance the night away howling at the moon in delight at the smoothness of their gearbox.
