Hi guys,

Just tinkering with the car and for the first time noticed this small bottle.

First of all what is it and what should be in it? It is currently empty!! Looks like it should have oil in it.

Any help really appreciated,

See attached.

Thanks..FB

looks like a clutch fluid reservior or something... what pipes/tubes come from it, and are there any sensors? What does the writing on the cap say?

it is the clutch fluid reservoir. I wouldn't put oil in it if I were you. Top up with some fresh brake fluid and monitor for leaks over the next few days.

If its completly empty I'm amazed your clutch is working at all ?
Brake reservoir to the extreme right on master cyclinder

ps this is what a full one looks like lol

If you don't find any signs of leaking hoses or pipes then check the area under your clutch pedal - the carpet, the pedal arm, the bulkhead. If it is wet with brake fluid then it is very likely to be your clutch master cylinder. If not then process of elimination should lead you to check around the slave cylinder.

No leaks anywhere - had it at the local indie yesterday.

Anyway filled it up and will monitor - thanks for the advise.

well thats a relief. At least it shouldn't let you down somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the dark [;)]
Bit worrying that there should be fluid loss of that quantity and yet no sign of a leak ?!

I had brake fluid dripping down from the steering column - and low fluid in the resevoir - one clutch master later and it made a huge diffrence - clutch is way lighter now!

Still need to clean the carpet though...
