Engine bay wiring diagram

I have a problem with the engine fan staying on for twenty minutes after the ignition has been turned off. I have replaced the resistor and the temperature sensor and swapped over the relay, all to no avail.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or know where one can be obtained so I can get an auto-electrician have a look at it?

Thanks, Clyde

Or Clyde, tried disconnecting the battery for 30 mins or more, then reconnecting?

Maybe clear it if it's an ECU gremlin.

I tried the Cannell site a while back but because of the size of the file it wasn't downloading (it isn't one of the manuals that's divided into bite size chunks) but I'll maybe give it another shot.

I replaced the earth strap a few weeks ago and the battery was disconnected for a while but probably not as much as half an hour.

The thing is it doesn't always do it but certainly most of the time, which seems to point to a break in the wiring that sometimes connects and sometimes doesn't. I had that before, which turned out to be the wire going into one of the connectors and was fine after I re-soldered it.

Managed to download it from the Cannell site this time, so hopefully the guys will be able to get to the bottom of it. Thanks Matthew

I was going to suggest checking the earth-strap - but you say you've recently replaced it.

Perhaps the new one's faulty.

Check the relay mine was burt out and causing this issue

l swapped the relay with one from the front fuse box - can't remember which one though. It was the same type but it didn't make any difference.

yeh its the same relay for the oil cooler fan if i remember correctly, sounds like it could be a dodgy ccu. You would be more than welcome to try my scantool software to try and diagnose but im in sheffield which is a long long way from you.

Thanks Oliver but yeah, a bit too far away. I dropped it off at an auto eletrcian yesterday, so hopfully it'll be sorted when I come back from Brussels on Tuesday (hopefully without the need for a new ccu). Then it needs to go into the bodyshop for a front end tidy up as someone reversed into it when it was parked in a carpark last Thursday. Lucky white heather anyone?
