I am replacing a piece of engine casing on my 1966 912 and have come upon an issue about which I need some advice please.
The old unit, which is smeared in metal glue, has a brass threaded bung in one of the oil galleries which is not present in the new unit (the covers have the same part number). Could this be due to the modified oil filter and if so, do I need to get a matching thread cut in the new one or not?
Has anyone had a similar experience or can anyone advise me please?
Thank you.
