Engine Compartment Light Switch Location

Please can someone tell me where the light switch for the engine comparment light is please? As I was locking up the workshop, I noticed that there was light coming through the slats on the boot lid. It was properly closed but the light was still on. I had a hunt around the hinges, latch etc but could not see where the switch is. I assume it has one and that closing the lid should swtich it off?

Thanks,
B

I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will come along soon to confirm, but I think it’s a micro-switch within the latch itself.

Glad someone else asked this question, as mine is being intermittent.

A follow up question, is the light solely triggered by the micro switch or are other features linked such as headlight usage?

Thanks!
However, it might not be the switch. I just read that if the front bonnet is open, the engine compartment light comes on. I haven't had a chance to check, but the bonnet was open at the time I saw the engine compartment light was on. I will report back...

So, it does! I had the bonnet unlatched (but not open) with the battery on charge and the engine bay light was lit, even though the engine cover was closed. When I fully closed the front bonnet, the engine bay light went out.
