Engine dies when oil cap removed

I know this has been covered before but mine has just started to do this, however my oil pipes have not been removed so the restrictor could not have been lost-any suggestions please?
I have tried crimping the top oil pipe and it seems to run when i do this.

Have you had your idle speed adjusted since owning the car?

I'm pretty certain that my car doesn't have that restrictor in (I haven't actually checked though). When I open mine, the revs drop and it makes the engine hunt. It sounds great [8D]

I would still do the squeeze test..Mine used to hunt like nathans but that was because the breather was full of goo and not restrictor. It hardly notices the cap being removed now...

i bought new ones in the end so dodged that situation... guessing a high pressure air line with lots of brake fluid would probably do it...i think there are a couple of hose clips holding the thing on, so quick to pull out and blast...
