Engine issue?

Chaps, been out this morning for a good thrash, car is behaving really well except for a slight engine issue. If I put my foot down, typically in third, the engine appears to miss for a while before catching and firing me down the road. Doesn't do it if I build the revs up gradually, only if I bury the throttle. Any ideas?

Nobody any ideas on this? Could it be injectors or plugs? Just seems bizarre that it doesn't happen when I build acceleration gradually, but only when I bury the throttle?

No I'm sure it's an engine issue, I can feel it trying to fire but not being able to. It's almost like there is a blockage or something?

There wide open and close throttle position switches. Should be easy to test if they are working if you have a multimeter. I would also look at the ignition, ive had some similar wierd issues with ignition when the leads had failed.

Fuel pressure regulator? if the pressure is a little low, but the pump is ok, flooring it pick up will be slow.

Ben I have my old 2.5 bar Fuel Pressure Regulator sitting round doing nothing. Your welcome to have it mate. What engine do you have? I think the regulators are the same across the range (he says as he prepares to be corrected). I know Lincolnshire is big I used to live in it but you are welcome to come and get it or will post it if you like. At least if you come and try it you can confirm or deny that it may be the culprit.

DOH just read your signature. My bad!!! [:D]

Sounds like a plug may be breaking down under heavy load??? Worth checking rotor cap for hairline fractures as I have seen this a couple of times before. Also worth checking the rotor arm and leads!
