Engine lid dilemma

Guest

New member
I'm about to fit a chin spoiler and carrera rear wing, unfortunately I can't seem to decide on whether to use the replacement predrilled engine lid which was purchased at same time and requires spraying to match the car(spoiler is already correct colour)...OR whether to drill my original lid and save on painting costs then sell on the other lid again. My original lid is also in nicer condition though with paint the predrilled one would be brought up to scratch.
Any views on this would be most welcome

Get the pre-drilled one painted. For a couple of reasons.

1) You can always put your old one back on if you decide you preffered the old look (you can't if you've drilled it).

2) Non drilled spoilers are harder to find (and therefore rarer) so they command a higher price when selling. So you should be able to get the cost of painted the lid back.

What colour is you existing spoiler?

Thanks Greg
Car and therefore undrilled lid is guards red.Rear wing/tail is in guards so no need to paint as pretty mint.Drilled engine lid is in a light blue metallic and off a much more "used" vehicle I would say as there is evidence of light blistering inside the lower edge(on mine there is none)
