Hello,

The "engine check - drive to porsche centre" message has come on the onboard computer and the check engine light in the dash is permanently on.

Obviously going to take to get checked out/not drive in the mean time, but what could be wrong? Drives fine at moment.

This happened to me a while back.
The 'fault' was diagnosed as a recorded misfire on one cylinder although I never noticed anything while driving, so that could be one explanation. My OPC just replaced the plug and coil for that cylinder and I've never seen the alarm since.

I had this light come on with a slight misfire over xxxMPH & it turned out to be a loose battery earth terminal.

Disconnected the battery for a period of time ( cant remember how long) re-connected it tightly, check light had gone out & car has run fine ever since.
Hope yours is as simple as that

Regards

Turns out the turbo had seized up - replaced under warranty - now 100 miles later engine light on again!

Guess there is some problem (eg fuelling) to the turbo - and this caused the failure.

Turning into a right saga - getting fed up!

Anyone else has similar problems?
