Engine Mounts

Hi guys, what are the signs of engine mounts collapsing? When I start the car from cold I get a lot of vibration through the car which goes away when the engine is warmed.
Any opinions on replacements which seem to vary from £45 each to £300 for the Porsche ones?
I guess after 35 years they maybe are a bit tired..

Clark’s Garage has a section on measuring them to see whether they’ve collapsed. The fact it goes away when warm makes me think it’s not engine mounts though?

I replaced mine with the cheap ones, they didn’t last that long so went for the proper ones I’m afraid.

I have used the Meyle replacement ones which are hydraulic like the rather expensive OEM ones. About £60 each and are good as new about 8 years later.

I've replaced the original ones with Meyle version. Its made a world of difference as one of the existing one had collapsed completely. its especially noticeable on start-up. at the same time I got "Augment" to replace the oil cooler on the back axle with their kit version

Good to know the Meyle mounts are good, a pair of the Porsche ones works out at £490 including a 10% discount!
