Engine Oil low after 1800 miles 3.4 Flat 6

This is normal in the 1st 2K miles. I was told about this when I left the showroom when I got my car that I would be doing my first 2K miles on the way to Spain. They were right, when I got to Benidorm the oil light lit :)

I have heard of this but didn't experience it with my 2.7 engine, in fact I've not added any oil after doing 11000 miles.

A previous 911 I owned burnt a pint every 2000 miles but i was assured this was 'normal'

Having covered only 1800 miles from new in my Cayman S, the oil level minimum warning display came on whilst driving on Friday evening. The car was driving fine and no expensive noises from the engine compartment or oil on the garage floor. I got in touch with Tracie from opc Chester (very helpful) who arranged for me to bring the car in first thing Saturday. They checked everything and topped up the oil and said that there were no issues. Has anyone else experienced such high oil consumption on a new car?

Given the reports in the motoring press I always check the oil level after every run and have not seen any changes or added oil between oil changes. However, this only works if you know the starting level. It may be worth checking using this method?

I had the same experience with my 2016 Cayman S. After 2000 miles the oil level was at minimum but over the next 2000, only one quarter of the way down so this looks to be just the bedding-in phase on a new engine.
