FYI this oil is far too think for a 964 and its been discussed at great length here before , if you do a search you will find the threads .
Read this http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/tech-articles/10w-60-oil.pdf and speak to Tim at Opie he will explain all you need to know.
If you use it you could damage the engine , sap power and increase MPG .
I like you thought it sounded ideal but ooh no it's not !!!!!
I took it out ASAP aften a miles after I noticeed issues and looked into it further .

Contacted Mobil (ExxonMobil) today. Spoke ironically to a German guy on technical. In a nut shell; I asked whether 'Mobil 1 10w-60 Extended Life' was suitable for our air cooled cars, they advised NOT! Its to thick an oil. while the cold start value 10W is ok, the upper value is far to thick for cars when running hot.
Although I have no written evidence from Mobil, this does however fully concur with the explanation given by Opie Oils, which Ian kindly provided the link to.
So, if the manufacture is advising against its use in our cars then enough said I would have thought!
