The Approved Oils list is here: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=230743 Personally, I prefer one of the 5W-40 oils in higher mileage or older 996s. I use Fuchs Titan Supersyn 5W-40.
 
Hi Richard, would you recommend adding an oil additive?? Just ben reading about AMTECH additive, what are your thoughts on adding this product? regards Baz
 
I have never used oil additives, so can't really comment. My thinking is that a decent oil should already contain everything it needs to look after a healthy engine. I would suggest making a post on the thread Alan (tscaptain) linked to. Simon and Guy at Opie are very knowledgeable, and will give you a straight answer.
