Engine Paint

I would like to paint some of my engine components (inlet manifold, cam cover, etc) but I am unsure where normal heat resistant paint would do the job. I have seen a few 944's with similar paint jobs and wonder if you guys used any particular brand?

CamCoat are superb. I used them to coat my exhaust from ports to turbo with anti-heat transfer stuff. The work was fantastic and the service was very quick and friendly.

Why?

Personally I`d have thought that this traps heat and my Turbo certainly gets vv warm under there. Most Chevy LS1 and Rover Tvr v8`s that are alloy arent painted? i`m probably wrong though [&o]

I polished the aluminium rocker cover by hand and then painted the indented porsche script red, giving the whole thing a final coat of clearcoat. Didn't take too long but there can be some major casting imperfections which take a while to 'iron out'.

Not sure if I like it as it comes out like mirror chrome, which I have never been a massive fan of. Which makes me wonder why I did it.... possibly filling time while waiting for parts to arrive, and it was less damaging than polishing the paint off the bodywork in frustration.....

I also painted the manifold again using normal automotive paint from Scally-frauds. Some Fiat colour was a pretty near match

damn its not my day today[8|]

is it likely to be camcoat or similar or am i way off the mark there?

I saw a 928 a few weeks ago with its twin cam (or should that be quad cam?) rocker covers painted titanium metallic with red script. It did look very good.

To be entirely accurate only one cam cover had been done at that stage but you got a great before and after look which better demonstrated how good the painted one looked.
