Hi All,

Having recently taken ownership of a 1997 993 2S, I am wondering if the car has the "sound package" ? My air box intake is chrome, whereas somebody elses I have seen, 1998 C4, is just black plastic ? Does this mean I have the package, its not on the original options, but I believe it could be fitted later ?

It does sound nice, however after my last 996, it should !!!

Thanks Maurice,

Good website, I certainly have the airbox, however I know the previous owner put on some aftermarket chrome exhaust tips, thereby removing the ones belonging to the "sound package". Unless you could just buy the Airbox on its own ??

Hi, I saw some of these airboxes for sale on Ebay about a month or two ago.
Are they easy to change and is the sound improved/changed (if you know what I mean) that much to make it worth it ?

Thanks Maurice,

Does the "proper" exhaust tips make any sound difference ?

I think the guy who owned the car before me just replaced the "standard tips", but I will phone him and check, you never know, he may still them lucking somewhere.
