Has this post in the concours sections but not sure that is viewed very much.

What is the verdict - is this OK to do on a 911? Is there anything you should take care with?
 
No not realy but it will rip the flacky paint off the tin ......so even more open to the elements ;-)

The throttle linkage will need re-oiling
