Engine Under Tray Available

Dear all,
Not been round here for a while............ Anyway, my RS is now gone, but I still have the original engine under tray gathering dust in the garage. It has spent most of it's life off the car wrapped in plastic, so is in pretty good shape. If any 964 completists require one, let me know. New they are a faintly laughable c.£900+ VAT, so I am open to offers.
PM me if interested.

cheers,

Jamie

Hi, yes it should do, though there is a difference between tip and manual (mine is manual). Ian doesn’t want it, so let me know if you’re still interested - I can send some pics.

Hi Jamie
I have a manual 964 C2, bog standard. I am told (by those more experienced than me in these matters) that the car cools better without the tray. However, at the right price I would be interested in acquiring one just for completeness (as you say) as I would not fit it, just have it collecting dust in the garage, like you. So, without wishing to offend you, would you take £100?

Yes, there's a theory that the undertray lead to hot-spots which resulted in premature wear - not really an issue in our climate. More realistically it was a fire hazard as leaking oil soaked into the foam insulation on the undertray !
By now the foam on most undertrays has disintegrated, and mine is starting to go. In addition mine has a crack in the metal plate which sits under the crank case. Surprisingly the fibreglass is completely undamaged. Send me your email address and I'll send you some pictures and you can tell me if you want it.

thanks,

Jamie
