ENGINE WARNING LIGHT!

DRIVING MY BOXTER THIS WEEKEND AND THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT DECIDED TO COME ON, PUT IT INTO MY LOCAL SPECIALIST THINKING NO PROBLEM PROBABLY THE OXEGEN SENSOR! WRONG MAJOR PROBLEM SIR IM TOLD. CAMSHAFT BANK 4-6 UDJUSTING SOLUNOID NEEDS REPLACING! £1400.MY BOXTER IS 1997 DONE 56000 MILES. PORSCHE SAY THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON FAULT WITH THESE CARS WHICH DOES NOT MAKE ME HAPPY. HAS ANTONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?[:mad:]

I have never heard of this problem before so I don' t think it is a very common problem.

Also your CAPS LOCK key is just to the left of ' A'

likewise, not heard of this problem, but I am sorry to say, your car probably cost near £40,000 when new (my MY97 did), so there are going to be expensive repairs from time to time. Just in case you dont make the connection, the parts that make up the car are expensive and do not last for ever.
No consolation but mental preparation.

Do you mean the VarioCam adjusting solenoid? This sounds very expensive - are they taking the engine out to do it? I would have thought it was easier than that (but I' m prepared to be wrong!)
