Well there I was in the pub on my phone with ten mates around me watching the ebay Cat D that I'd bid on.
Had a few to celebrate[&:]

Spoke to the guys wh own it in the week and one of them has a CS in yellow & is a big fan. Says I'll be pleased with it re the way it goes and drives. All OK in the suspension dept etc.

So, anybody got a front PU, wing, headlight assembly?[:D]

Hope to see you all soon.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave I have a brand new nearside wing - bought last year from PC Wilmslow and never used it. PM me if you are interested... Neil

Good on you Dave. Soon be thrashing the thing around Donny. Will look out for the parts on my journey's next weekend ;) JP

Well, got down there, gave the front wing a kicking to get it in line a bit, threw a load of string round the front then gaffered taped it all up, checked the levels and tyre pressures and drove it back[:D] Only problem was the seal on the back hatch started to flap a bit so more tape. Very different drive to the CS, feels heavier, which it is of course, and smoother. A lot quieter and the fuel gauge hardly seemed to move after a 110 miles! No rattles, no shakes, oil pressure at just over 2 bar at idle & just over 5 at speed, temp gauge in the right place and fan working in traffic, no noises from the transmission, brakes pulling up straight & all working, electric windows, mirrors, heating all OK, even the one good headlight pops up and down! On the debit side the n/s rear wing needs more work than in the pics & won't dentmaster, the passenger side central lock and the sunroof aren't working and will need discs & pads soon plus the rear box is split. Certainly feels & drives like 70k miler. Started to look at it more closely when we got back and I'm going to need the metal work where the headlight sits. It's creased badly and bent the headlight actuating arm although the motor is still in there. Inner wing has moved a bit but no damage to the chassis rail or strut area. Still has the wheel arch liner in there. Thanks for the contacts chaps and should have it looking good & driving well soon. Will be more of a budget orientated car as will be for every day driving. Will be doing the sensible mods ie brake hoses, airbox mod, throw out the rear seats & belts, maybe Koni's, poly bushes. Stop stop. Nurse nurse! Shame no PCGB trackdays at Dono as another barby would be great. Will keep you posted. Cheers Dave
