European Breakdown Cover: Le Mans

Hi Folks,

I'm going to Le Mans again this year (convoy of friends....not the official PCGB trip) but will be going in my Porsche for the first time - woo hoo!

When I bought it last October I took out AA relay cover but forgot to get European cover (idiot!), I have just called the AA and they have quoted £240.00 on top of the £80 I have already paid!!! reason - 'is't an old car'.

Has anyone had this problem and / or can suggest who out there will provide Euro breakdown cover just for the 5 days I am over there?

Cheers,
Chris.

Rather than pay the AA's extremely exhorbatant fees, click onto:-

They'll find you the cheapest quote - as an example I have breakdown cover on my Wife's and my Car for £60 - that's the full five star AA equivalant cover.

Last year, I bought European Cover for my car from Europ Assist (it's a bigger comany than the AA!) for IIRC £80. And that was the full year including UK & any trip abroad.

I've been using this site for years to get cheaper insurance, mortgages and lans, and they've never let me down!

One of my major reasons for ditching the AA was their ridiculously expensive european assistance cover.

Check with your insurance company. I know that mine (Norwich Union Direct) offer European recovery for something like £75 per year (that's what it costs me anyway).

For that price why not join A.C.O., the A.C.O. represents 100,000 members to whom it ensures the implementation of services so that they can take to the road in the knowledge that they are safe (in France : breakdown/towing, assistance to private individuals, obligatory technical control, legal protection, ...).
By becoming members, the members also contribute to the development of community life both in the counties and at a national level. You also get discount on tickest and seats to the grandstand last I heard I dont know what it costs now but it was around £80.00 for the year .
