European Road Trip

Hi Folks,

I'm planning a European road trip with some friend and wanted to ask for any advice and/or alternative routes to the itinerary below from anyone who has done something similar.

So, ideally our 10/14 day road trip commences some time in the weeks of the 16th or 23th of July.

Unfortunately the only F1 races are Germany (the ring) on the 22nd or Hungary on the 5th August.

Alternatively we could go in the last week of August/first week in September and catch the Italian (Monza) GP on the 9th September.

For either dates the rough plan is to: -

1. Drive down to the south of France perhaps staying over in a Chateau, on route travel over the Viaduc De Millau bridge
2. Then "do" the south of France St Tropez, Nice, Cannes, through to the Monaco, then Italian Riviera - stopping over anyway on route
3. Across into Italy and Maranello for the Ferrari factory/museum visit
4. Up through Austria via the Grossglockner Alpine pass (famous road over the Alps frequently used by the motoring industry/press) then on into Budapest Hungary
5. Through Hungary and up into the Czech Republic, Pargue - beautiful women here Dino!
6. Over into Germany (Stuttgart) and the Porsche factory/museum visit
7. Then through Germany, Belgium to Holland (Amsterdam) and back to old blighty
Thx.

I'd take at look at www.alpineroads.com and include as much of their suggestions as possible.

I have thought about taking the car train on the outward trip to make the trip a bit different but also to give myself an extra day in the South of France, Millua bridge etc..
