Evening Track Days

Goldtrack have just released their dates for this year. For those new to the forum it's become something of a 944 tradition to pick a date and have a meet up. Any suggestions of which date/s we should choose?

(all 98dB on the full GP circuit at £139, except July 21st which is on the national at £119)

May 14
May 19
June 2
June 8
July 14
July 21 (National Circuit)
July 29
Aug 17

Any reason why the 997 boys shouldn't do the same? Who's interested and how to arrange a date?

Technically as a register or even a region we cannot organise a trackday unless its through the motorsport..[]
We've had this issue raised after organising the register track experience day forthcoming in September..

I assume the list above is Brands?
Trouble is as a register we are spread wide and far, so a lot harder than regions.
However if a member perhaps suggested a certain date, then others may feel free to join them [;)]

I would also caution that Track days/evenings run by commercial firms can be a lot busier and open to all. They can be a lot more stressful than the clubs days which are well organised and not run for profit so tend to have less cars on the circuit. That is not to say there are not good commercial track days just be cautious about where you take your pride and joy or you may not enjoy the experience

How many 997s would get under 98dB? Unless that is measured from some distance whilst on track I reckon a lot of cars would struggle to be that quiet.

This isn't the register organising a trackday, it's members of a register arranging to attend a publicly operated trackday.

Interesting point - last two trackdays I attended were Bedford 97dB and Snetterton 101dB!. Depends on a whole host of variables.

I will probably attend at least one evening event (they are Silverstone) and then post to see if any of the register want to join!

A Standard exhaust 997 should pass the 98db limit, but as pointed there are some variables...

Certainy sounds something to look at in the future.
