The website says Saturday is sold out but tickets available for the Sunday, 8th [:)] http://www.classicsatthecastle.com/2013/

Classics at the Castle - Hedingham Sept 8th.

This annual event is located at the same excellent venue, but has more space, so they can now provide Register parking for all Porsche models..

The event expects to have a number of exciting cars on display, along with a parade through the grounds to celebrate the 50th 911 anniversary.

PCGB will have a large marquee on site, with club shop, tea/coffee facilities and a rest area.

So for the last main event on this year's calendar, visit the website and purchase your tickets either on the web or by phone.www.classicsatthecastle.com

Entry is £20 per car and driver with an additional charge for passengers.

It would be useful to find out who will be attending as, if there are enough 997 members, we may be able to arrange a specific 997 Register display.

Just indicate your wish to attend here and we'll see how many we have interested.

Regards,

Clive.

The main public event is Sunday 8 September. I attend most years, and it's always a first class, international quality event, with fabulous cars and famous faces. Unfortunately, this year we're racing so I'll miss out.

It's just been confirmed and you're right - it is Sunday 8th. September Info. received from HQ yesterday was duff, although I believe there is a dinner at the venue on Sat. 7th. Any 997 Register members thinking of going to this event? [;)] Clive.

I was planning on going on the Saturday as Chris is away on the Sunday, though that now seems sold out If the register are going I may change my Sunday plans and come along then instead

Hi The Satuarday is Sold out but this is for a meal in the Evening at the Castle. The Sunday is the main event Tickets is advance from Porsche at £20 phone number on the site or if you would like to pay on the day at the gate its Cash Only. I have been to this event every year since the start & its an excellent event for Classic Porsche Cars. Last year J-Kay took his rare Purple 73 RS which was a lovely car & he was happy to sign anything if you asked him & he signed my Rare 73 RS Book which made the £20 entrance fee worth it. Yours sincerely Kevin.[:)]

No plans to do anything officially, but if there were enough Register members wanting to go, please let me know via this thread and I can arrange for some reserved parking so that everyone is together. [;)] Regards, Clive.

As an alternative and for those that like to be welcomed to events in their modern Porsches [;)] The TIPEC national show is on the 8th, taking place at Gaydon and is free to enter.- just saying...[:)]

#Like [:)] Not only modern Porsches, the true "classics" are all excluded. And it's not supported by either Porsche Clubs in the UK. And it's in a lousy location. If I wasn't going to be on a beach setting a record for the most guitarists performing at one time, I'd be going to the Tipec event myself. [;)]

It is actually heavily supported -financially and otherwise- by this Club.

Well i keep asking that question about us paying but i still have not had A answer as to why but i am still waiting ???

The event is supported financially by Porsche AG who supply the finance through PCGB who is the only Officially recognised Porsche Club in GB. By routing the support funds via PCGB, Porsche AG are keeping their side of the recognition agreement and the Club has some say over what is essentially an event run by the Hedingham Castle events team, some who are PCGB members. The event is well worth a visit to see examples of Porsche models that are not often seen at many PCGB events. Lets hope the weather is good.

Clive I am going to the Castle Hedingham event on the Sunday. I hope to park my 997 with all of the others in the register. See you at Beaulieu as well. Regards John MccULLOCH

Robin the club are paying funds towards this event along with magazine space, an event ran for profit by one of the clubs own workers, yet we still seem keen on throwing money at this event even though we've just had a national event at a classic show where these cars could have been seen by all club members and more.

John, So far you're the only 997 Register member to confirm they're actually attending - although I'm sure there will other 997's there. I guess it'll be a case of just turning up and parking in the most appropriate location. [8|] Regards, Clive

In reply to garyw this is what i have been asking For some time as why we are doing this but never Had it answered i am suprised more people dont Ask to why ???

So, something of a paper exercise with PAG bizarrely using PCGB to finance a non-Club event. Even the write-up in the latest PP implies that it is a Club event.

What say, exactly?

Presumably they are not often -or ever- seen at our events due to their having this one. Would it not be possible to bring this event into the Club and then hold it at a location accessible to more members? It would certainly make a great centre-piece at our National Event.
