No thankyou, I don't do Facebook, Twitttt or any other "social media" idiocy.

This forum is "social media", I don't see it as "idiocy"? [&o]

Facebook is just a platform, and an easy way to connect groups. You don't have to use other aspects of it.

I think Chris is referring to the social media that does delve into some form of idiocy, not necessarily this one [;)]

It does have it's uses but unfortunately Facebook does have elements of idiocy about it.

The idea is to have all events, gatherings and pics in one place, along with being an easy and quick way to update everyone on said events.

If you like the idea - Great! and if you are not already signed up to FB and don't wish to then we are sorry that you won't be joining us.

But please bear in mind, we shouldn't all be tarred with the same brush.

Yes, but so long as you don't actively invite or sign up for things you don't want, any social media is fine, and extremely useful. What I don't like is the generalising.

I use twitter only for news, it's just like an instant newspaper. Facebook is ideal for groups, forums are all very different. It's like saying "I don't like reality shows, so I refuse to watch any television". Of course there's rubbish out there, but that's the same in any area where more than two people come together!
