It is from 3pm until late on Croxley Green, The Green (by Baldwins Lane), Nr Watford, Herts. This is a popular event for many car clubs so look out for R21's regular location and park with our Porsches on the back tree line.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] Suggestions for the Summer[FONT=verdana, geneva"] The Stockwood Discovery Centre (near M1 J10A) is an excellent day out with plenty to interest adults and children (see http://www.stockwooddiscoverycentre.co.uk/). Rural craft centre, junior farm, traditional fair and more (see http://www.wroxhambarns.co.uk/).[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
Minsmere Bird Sanctuary, nr Westleton, Suffolk. Nature reserve with tearooms, a wide network of paths and trails. Great way to see birds, enjoy a nice walk, experience heath, woodland, and the beach & dunes (see www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guide/m/minsmere/index.asp). From A14/A12 junction East of Ipswich, drive north up A12 for about 22 miles then turn right on to B1122. After about 2 miles turn left on to B1125 and follow signs for RSBP reserve.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
Anglo-Saxon Village, nr Icklingham, Suffolk. A reconstructed Anglo-Saxon Village with pigs and chickens. Children and adults love trying out the furniture, working out what objects are for and seeing how each building is different. There is also a cafeteria, shop and large Country Park (see www.stedmundsbury.gov.uk/sebc/play/weststow-asv.cfm). On A11 going North from Barton Mill turn right at roundabout on to A1101. After about 4 miles (a mile passed Icklingham) turn left for Anglo-Saxon Village and picnic area.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
Grafham Waters, nr Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. A good picnic area with plenty of open ground and views across lake. There is also an Exhibition Centre, Café and safe walking/cycle track round lake with facilities to hire cycles (2 wheel, 3 wheel & tandem) next to car park. On A1 going North from Diddington turn Left at roundabout on to B661. After about 1 mile turn right (watch for "hidden sign" to Exhibition Centre) and after about another mile turn in to car park on left.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] Mountfitchet Castle, nr Stanstead, Essex. An early Iron Age fort and Roman, Saxon and Viking settlement with free-ranging animals to feed (see www.mountfitchetcastle.co.uk). A great place to visit with children on dry days (mostly grass underfoot) but entrance fee is high in my view (Adults £8.50, Children £6.50) which includes entry to The Toy Museum next door. However, this is probably of more interest to adults than to children under 16. [FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"] Druidstone Wildlife Park, nr Whitstable, Kent. Enchanted Forest with dragon's lair and wild life areas. Also many sculptures and statues. Great for both children and adults (see www.druidstone.net).
