Ever wish you'd not started something?

Damn it. I finally get my little cubby hole guage panel sorted the way I want (fitted my WBO2, boost controller and injector duty meter how I wanted them), and I take the car for a little run round the corner to get some fags. only to find out that I'm maxing out my #55lbs injectors at 4500rpm!. [] I hate spending money! Anyone got any 72's they want to get rid of?

I guess there's a few more of these "doh!'s" around......?

Hmmmmm, what mods and boost are you running to max out 55s?

I know what you mean about wishing you hadn't started something. After the Weltmeister Dyno Day I could see how quickly my boost dropped off after 5000rpm so eventually bought a Greddy boost controller, then a bigger Turbo and now a new engine.

I was pretty happy before I saw that curve drop [:D]

Well, the basic long engine is realitively stock, (apart from a little porting on the head). As for the rest, Well I think some of the bolts are original! [:D]

Big turbos are fun aren't they? [;)]

I thik I'm actually running a bit rich towards the top end, so if I lean that off a bit, It'll help, but I'm not sure it's gonna solve the problem.

Don't worry Mike, I'm maxing out 72's [:D] To be fair that's at 7,000 rpm and more fuel pressure will help a lot if someone with a spare AFPR ever finds it...[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]In a similar but diametrically opposed direction I have been getting somewhat depressed by my £60+ for just over 200 miles economy so yesterday I turned on "Open loop lean highway" on my EMS and now rather than a 12.x:1 cruising AFR I suddenly have 15.x:1, but it shoots into lovely 11's quicker than the gauge can keep up when the hammer drops. Lovely jubbly; I might be able to pass petrol stations as well as everything else on the road now [8D][FONT=verdana,geneva"]

Just cheer me up why don't you!? [] It's so good to know 72's may not do it either!

You should have said about AFPR's. I flogged my old one on ebay about a month ago. If only i'd known.....

[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Oh, I've only been waiting 32 days for someone to find his spare [8|][FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I'm maxing my 72s because I'm on the standard FPR (with a little crimp), and it is a little bit up the revs from you. I went for 72s because I thought 96 was waaaay too much but I wanted margin for growth [&:][FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Oh that's alright then. I almost felt guilty for 3 seconds!

When I bought the #55's. I thought I#d have enough room to play with too. I got them, a MAF and a BOV in my first package. A turbo, various fuel parts, exhaust, wastegate and numerous other odds-and -s**s later, and I'm struggling!. Oh well, easy come, easy go......

Looks like it will be 72s for me as well then. I don't plan to rev anywhere near 7000rpm (apart from my 200mph attempt of course [:D][;)]), and I want to keep boost to a maximim of 18psi for longevity.

Fen, are you using the Turbo for your daily commute now? Hard core or what? I'm impressed [8D]

I haven't commuted at all since last Monday. I'm going in tomorrow but I was going to take the Pug, although that is only because I don't want to have to buy more insurance miles next summer then on the other hand the Turbo is behind it and has a full tank and I hate all that "Butterflies" nonsense in the morning... I 'wish I'd never started '(wish I had). Got an extra rare care in my drive I had on the road about 5-6 years ago, legal, MOT'd and even raced once. MOT ran out - said 'will restore that to former glory soon', still haven't. Rats are living in it. Put loads of poison down few weeks ago, and must have killed one as car was covered in maggots this morning. Probably a dead one in engine compartment, but as lock jamed?

Going to have to call the Council to get rat man to sort it - rats have wrecked the interior which was going to be replaced - just hope got some wiring left!
