We are getting an extension done this summer, unfortunately it wont give me more garage space but it will give my wife a nice conservatory[;)] This means the porsche is on the drive, anybody used these all weather protection covers? Are they any good or do they just trap moisture...........[8|]

You need a good quality breatheable one which keeps the car dry but lets moisture out. We have a fella in the Vintage Club who had his Hillman Hunter out all winter and covered with some plastic stuff like a tarpaulin.. It trapped the moisture and now the car has rust bubbles forming under the paintwork....A mess...... []

I'm skeptical such a thing really exists. I know they're advertised as such but I'm not convinced.

I've got a Weathershield "Noah". I think it's a toss-up between the red paintwork going pink in the sun, or the corners getting rubbed as the cover moves in the wind. I really only bother with it when we have days of unbroken sun and still conditions.

It's been so long that I can't remember the last time I used it! []

For 18 months I've had a tailored/breathable cover from Specialised Car Covers and I'm very pleased with it. The fabric's called Webflex and as far as I can see it does breathe and the car doesn't sweat underneath it. Best of all, it's a really good fit, so when the straps are tight it has no chance to flap or chafe. Choice of colours too! Cost me about £200; worth every penny.
