What is the Evo triangle route?

With it being well known does it attract the attention of the local constabulary?

Will await the dash cam footage.

hi all,

just had a blast around the Evo Triangle in north wales, in the 997 C2S. Didn't really boot it around too much, but can see why it's such a good route ??

I'll try to post some recordings from my dash cam if I can suss that, once back home in Cambridgeshire following a 2 day getaway to snowdonia.

interested to hear any tales of this great driving route, times etc? I didn't time it as I stopped off a couple of times and ultimately just wanted to drive the route, not smash it.

The car was fab, amazingly my missus was too as she just sat there without moaning!

Glad you enjoyed the Welsh roads. They are something else!

For or more information, buy Total 911 this coming month... 7-14 days' time as there will be a big spread featuring a bunch of 911s in Wales, including the Evo Triangle. We had a ball :)

and yes, that handsome grey 997.2 T is mine :)

watch out for mobile speed camera vans parked up on the route. To be honest though, you don't really need to break the limit to enjoy this one. It's well worth a trip

Have you tried googling it? There's plenty of info and the route out there. [;)]

A couple of us actually drove the EVO triangle Sunday just gone.

East side was a great run but sadly held up by motorbikes coming back down the West side.

Then proceeded over to Bala for lunch via some amazing roads before taking the direct route over the mountains back towards the A5 and the Midlands.

Neil, do you need the route or just information?

Its bottom side is the A5, so gives you an idea of location, its fame came from EVO magazine using it for many of their car tests.

The route is some divine driving roads that offer just about every bend and surface you'd want from a road whilst in a sports car.

There has been a lot of chat of Police monitoring the route after complaints from the locals, however I didn't see any Feds on Sunday- but as mentioned above, NSL is an excellent speed to do the road at.

I find the 'M' route that includes Ponderosa > Ruthin > EVO is an excellent mornings workout

Pentrefoelas to Denbigh, turn right pass Llyn Brenig to Cerrigydrudion than back along A5 or in reverse, there are many other great roads in this area also, but this has a mainly good surface, is quite wide, in part its high up moors with views to Snowdon and north coast, forest lined sections, it is much used! pricey cars and bikes on show, but some plonkers on bikes and cars who think they are Rossi or Hamilton! unmarked and marked Law enforcement bikes and cars, stray sheep, tractors and low flying very noisy fast jets, if your lucky! places to sit and watch and the Welsh Water café lakeside at LLyn Brenig is very nice, great views as well, but best of all you are only a stones throw from Llandudno for somewhere nice to stay!

I haven't forgotten to upload a vid (not that I know how!), it's just that my dash cam is in my car that broke down on the way home near rugby on the M6! Coil packs and plugs renewed and all is good, picking it back up tomorrow.....
