EWOTY 2017 Thank You

Hi guys and girls,

A little tardy with this one, chilled out yesterday and binged on the latest series of Game of Thrones (epic).

Anyway, Wendy and I know how much you all loved our trip to France and thank you for all the kind words. Wendy and I didn't look at organising the trip as a chore, it was a buzz to think we could show people where we used to live and why we loved it so much. The jewel in the crown for us was/is the Hotel de France, petrol head and food nirvana, i'm sure you'd all agree. Since we returned we have received an email from Sally, the manager of the Hotel de France saying it was a pleasure having us and that we were a dream to deal with.

Now, we can organise the greatest WOTY's in the world, eating and staying in the best restaurants etc. But what really makes them is all of you, without great and funny people to be around to enjoy it with, what is the point? What I'm trying to say is, we just supplied the tools, you made the week great and unforgettable.

So from Wendy and I, thank you :)

P.S yes we would love to organise another one. Nurbergring, Spa and Porsche factory tour and museum in 2019 anyone?

Hi Mark and Wendy

France was awesome and many thanks to you both for organising it!!

It's taken 3 hours to get rid of flies etc and the weeks worth of grime inside nd outside of car :)

If we are still around in 2019, lol, would be up for an EWOTY to Germany!!!

May the force be with you

Haven't washed the car yet, rained all day yesterday and has been very foggy here today. I'll do it at the weekend, its going to be a tough job getting those flies off.

Deb & I can't thank you both enough, we had a great time following everyone else, getting it wrong and just generally chilling with the masses, while you both fretted about schedules and routes and herding us all together. This was a very, welcome break and a holiday for us both. Good food, lots of wine and some great places to see and visit. Yes it was a bit of a rush but wouldn't have wanted it any other way as there was nothing I would have wanted to miss or take out of your list. Loved the Le Mans visit and Honfleur is fantastic especially when you get the chance to share the whole experience with the guys and girls of R3. #unforgettable memories.

Well done again for the huge effort.

Posted some comments on the original thread, but just wanted to add that Helen and I would definitely be up for any form of repeat event - Ireland, Germany, wherever.......

Mark, Wendy, whether or not you enjoyed doing it is down to you, but many thanks . Organising something like this is a massive challenge that you pulled off brilliantly.

The flies are well baked on my car at the moment. At least they obscure the number plate, but I will need a chisel to get them off when I get back.

I could be up for the Germany trip in 2019, providing it was out of term time - it's GCSE year for Scott!

Hi M & W - Great job on France as you know - Karen and I would be up for Nurburgring or any other destination for that matter. There is a fab Hotel at Nurburgring right on the circuit - The Dorint AM Nurburgring Hocheifel, I have stayed here before and has a great atmosphere, The Cockpit bar is Wonderbah ( I feel an accent coming on) The main bedroom suites face the circuit with balconies, early wake up call from highly tuned racing engines !

Vot more can a say.

Sounds good, will have to take note of that for 2019. Get working on a Poem :)

Forget the overpriced Dorint - speak to the lovely Vicky at the Ringhaus, go for steak on a stone at the PistonKlause and Vicky will be manning the bar when you get back to the hotel - it stays open as long as the last man is standing/lying/still semi conscious!

Monday lunchtime - Drive down to Hull

Monday late afternoon - trucker’s party ferry to Zeebrugge

Tuesday - Zeebrugge to Eupen for Lunch in the square, then the Monschau tank road and a trip through the Eiffel mountains to the ‘Ring. Cheeky late afternoon session on the GP track if possible or a tentative Ring lap and a fortifying currywurst in the car park Before a perv in the Nurburgring RSR garage and dinner at the PistonKlause

Wednesday - TF on the Ring/GP track/Both - PistonKlause again because it is THAT good, back to the bar to the bar to come up with excuses for a plus 10 minute lap.

Thursday - Blat back to Zeebrugge, wave at Spa as we pass - lunch there if time (probably not as we’ll have been waiting for Kenny), back on the party ferry for 5pm.

Friday - Zoom zoom from Hull to the North East riviera and back for lunchtime
