Just traded my Gen 2 Carrera PDK (18 mths old, 11,000 miles) in for a Carrera S PDK. Was a complete no brainer, since the OPC - very keen to shift "units" before the end of the financial year - offered extremely generous trade in price to make the deal. It has barely cost me anything in the round! I think the logistics of this only work for the OPC's until the end of March; has anyone else done such a thing?

Well your e-mail gave me the confidence to drive a hard bargain, and what a bargain i got![]
The OPC increased my residual by by enough to pay for the deposit on new agreement, and also were prepared to add Turbo wheels, Sports Shift and a few other little bits FOC.[][]
Will be picking it up next weekend[][][]
So thankyou for heads up on your deal

Is it a new stock car or 2nd hand, your slate grey car seemed to go well last weekend had you been thinking of changing for a while.
It seems to be the time for good deals I thought mine was pretty good as well, I hope the residuals dont reflect the OPC's current situation when the time comes to sell. It is unusual for the punters to all be happy unless we are all so used to being fleeced.

This makes me shudder somewhat with fear when thinking about residuals....
Look what's happened to BMW and Mercedes once they start being generous with discounts etc, shocking residuals. I guess it's ok if you want to keep the car for life but for those swapping every couple of years, we may not be smiling then. Apologies, not wishing to dampen enthusiasm here at all, good luck I say.
I live to enjoy the car, can't worry all the time about money of course []

Jon - well, I am pleased you got a good deal too.
I take the point made by others - long term, perhaps it is not a great sign that OPC's are doing deals such as this. However, I suspect the reality is that this is a short term and immediate fix being created by the odd OPC that is desperately in need to shift units in order to retain its franchise or future allocation of new cars. It is also only possible for them at the moment since they are so confident of being able to get rid of the trade in immediately, which in my case was because a low mileage Gen 2 PDK car is something that will still attract a lot of interest in the used cars market given the scarcity of them. In a few months/a year, this will no longer be the case ; I doubt the OPC would be prepared to take the risk of paying over the odds for a car that they can't be sure of selling immediately.
Anyway, I don't care - I have a new car on its way!!

I got back feeling rather envious of all those TT's and starting looking round. Didn't really find any TT's that took my fancy, but the OPC I bought 'slate grey' from, offered me a very tempting deal.
It was a new one, so pushed them very hard
Also 'slate grey' was coming up to 4 years old, had a few knocks and stone chips, especially after Normandy so.......do I pay for Porsche warranty again etc etc
I think/feel that residuals are holding up, especially as OPC are keen to do deals, and sales of new are struggling. hopefully in 2-3 years, part ex for approved TT?
Picking new motor up Sat am, so will post a few pics if I can work out best way to do it. Can't get head round Alex's thread with photobucket.
