Exhaust Advice

Hi

Seeing as my sec. silencer has decided to give up life, I'm looking at spending at least £400-600 depending on whether I use Dansk or original to replace.

Has anyone had one of the Hayward and Scott s/s sports systems fitted and what do they think about them?
The one I spoke to Ian about at Hayward was the cat silencer, primary silencer through to tail pipe system which retails at about £600 + vat.
Couple of things concern me when replacing my current systems, 1 - The sound of my current systems is the dogs (cat bypass, cup pipe and sec. sil.) and 2 - The noise created by the H&S system (I still want to go on track days and not get slung off for being to loud)

Can anyone give any advice?

Thanks

Rob

Rob,

I seem to recall that Gary Steele - previous RO of R15 - had an H&S system on his 964. He has, I believe, now sold the 964 but I remember from a few years back that his exhaust was a little louder than mine - and you know what that sounds like!! It may be that H&S have modified it since that time so it's probably worth talking to them before making a decision. There is someone from H&S* who posts on this forum from time to time so you may get some advice from them.

I can't remember if Gary's was a dual outlet system - which would have bodywork implications too.

Regards

Dave

* Rob, I believe the person I was thinking of is Ian Reeve - he posts as 911SSC. He may be worth a PM if he doesn't see the post.

Sorry to pop in from my usual 944 section with such a weird first post, but I know him as he's my RO and as I recall Garry specifically asked H&S for it to be loud.

I may be spending a bit more time here in the future though...

So do you think H&S would be able to make me a system that keeps the sound qualtity and is as quiet?

I think more than most companies they will bespoke the system to your requirement. I'm sure they are familiar with track day noise requirement.

I can vouch for their quality having only recently sold the 5 year old system from my 944 in dirty but otherwise perfect condition.
