Exhaust fumes

Hi, this is my first posting and I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice please.
I took the plunge about 8 months ago and bought my first Porsche. A 1987 944S.
I've spent a fair bit on it but unfortunately one problem seems to remain. Yes you guessed - exhaust fumes in the cabin when the windows or sunroof is open. The most frustrating thing is that I have already renewed the tailgate seal (OEM part used) and locking pins but the problem remains.
Any advice would be gratefully received as it would be nice to breathe fresh air!!

Cheers
John

.....and also take out the spare wheel and look down into the well. there should be a one way rubber grommet at the bottom to allow water out, but if it's missing it lets in a surprising amount of road noise and potentially fumes as well.

Welcome to the forum [:)]

I had the spare wheel out yesterday and I'm sure that the gromet is missing. Where would the best place be to track one of these down? Local OPC?

Many thanks
John

Interesting - I did wonder what that grommet was for.

Now I know!

Thanks!

(Off to be grumpy somewhere else.)

Should anyone be interested, I had a lovely night's sleep last night.

So am finding it harder than ever to muster up a suitable grump today.

Normal service will be resumed in due course tho', I am sure ....

Perhaps if i was to suggest you started looking for a nice Turbo to replace your S2, normal service might resume all the sooner...?[;)]

Perhaps ... after all, the suggestion that I should replace a superior vehicle with an inferior one would be quite likely to get me all out-of-sorts very quickly!
