Exhaust modification advice

I have a 997 c2s. I am contemplating getting the Porsche sports exhaust fitted but also thinking about modifying the existing silencer units so as to have a deeper sound from the exhaust. The car has only covered 5000 miles and do not want to waste money on the Porsche Exhaust System by having to disregard the existing. I also thought about a silencer bypass directly from the cat but do not want to invalidate the warranty on the car.

I would appreciate your thoughts and ideas.

from charlotte's friend (charlotte and her c4s (already with sports exhaust) don't understand any of the above!)

It really depends on what you're trying to achieve, are you looking for more power or just for a better sound?

There are lots of non-Porsche sports exhaust systems available, FVD Brombacher, Milltek, Fabspeed, are just a few "aftermarket" systems which will give you more power and a better sound. Changing the headers and cats will make significant improvements to power and sound, changing the mufflers will improve the sound and get you a bit more power.

You need to note that any "aftermarket" options may make warranty claims difficult to get through your OPC though legally they shouldn't refuse a warranty claim if the replaced part is of the same or better quality than the OEM. However when the time arrives for warranty renewal the OPC will refuse on the grounds that you have non standard parts fitted.

If you simply want a better sound without warranty issues then the Porsche sports mufflers would be your choice.
