Exhaust noise levels for track day

I have looked if this else where on a thread and can't see anything.

I am hoping to go on a track day at Goodwood in my 993, un-modified. Will it get through the noise test of 98db??

Hi Russell

A 993 with standard exhaust should fly through the 98 dB without any problem. I recently did the Classic Car Action Day at Castle Combe with Region 16. My 993 has standard cats etc but Ruf pattern rear boxes and recorded a reading of 95.8 dB so you should be fine.

ditto never had a problem with a Porsche OEM exhaust, worst it ever got on a static test was 99.5 db on a cold morning at castle coombe, which was odd as it was always about 98'ish !

Right, well I'm going to go for it. I tested it again yesterday and the reading was 100db, but the engine was cold. With the meter having an error range of 2db, I think we're going to be OK.
