exhaust question

Just got back from festival and noticed some great sounding 911's.I have a performance stainless steel exhaust but just not as loud and rumberly so wondered if anyone has achived this by removing rear can and coming staight off with a pipe.
If anyone knows anything along these lines could you let me know please.
[]

Don't do it unless you want to go deaf! I had a Fabspeed pipe (rear box delete) for a while, it was mad!:p.

On one occasion my mate lost touch following me through Cambridge, but later caught up. "How did you find me?" I asked when we stopped, " Easy, I just wound down the window and followed the noise and the trail of frightened children and animals!" he replied.

Still got it in the garage if you want a try.

Deleting the pre-silencer helps the sound a bit. I've got an H&S system and the balance of sound and power is just right for me. Not tiring on long journeys, which could not be said for the Fabspeed pipe.

I would second Twinny's comments, his Fabspeed system made birds fall out of sky clutching their ears in pain. !!!
His H&S system makes his car one of the best sounding 3.2 Carrera's I have heard and also gave a Dyno proven
big HP increase.

when you say i can give it a try do you want to sell it perhaps we can sort something out?

if you want to get an idea of how loud it would be, seperate the silencer from the pre silencer and start her up (please do this away from your house, otherwise be prepared to fall out with all your neighbours [:(])

Greetings
I've got a Hayward&Scott system and I love it[:D] It's a good balance of noise when you want it (circa. 4k rpm and more) and almost silent [8|]if you keep the rev's low esp. when your returning from the local hostelry at some god forsaken hour of the night (as my Mum would say waving her finger at me).
My dear missus thinks there's something wrong with the car I think she's lost the plot[;)]
However if you visit the H&S website they do have a couple of video's, the typical "before and after" fitting a system, inc. sound.
Good luck
Alex

I keep think about fitting a sports exhaust but not sure where to get a nice 1 from and what is a good price for 1....how much are we looking ?
