Exhaust smell

Hello

I have the problem that when my sunroof or windows are open I get exhaust gas smells inside the car. I hVe seen a lot on line ref this problem but can anyone advise if they have had the problem and cured it.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen this mentioned and also rear lights or gearshift gaiters. I wondered if anyone actually had the problem and how they cured it. It does seem common with 944s.

Sorry but mine has new hatch seals, re-sealed rear lights, and new hatch pins. Still smell exhaust when roof and drivers window is open [:'(]

Also check the length of your tail pipe. Mine was shortened originally and when I had a stainless rear section made I had it lengthened to almost level with the bumper. Problem not longer apparent [;)]

Had the same when I first got my S2. For me it was a worn hatch pin allowing the near side of the tailback to pop open slightly.....fumes would then get drawn in (especially so when sunroof / windows open). New pins (correctly adjusted) sorted the issue!

Thanks for the replys. I might get some wide masking tape and tape up all the way around the hatch so it's air/gas tight and take it for a drive.
