exhaust system needed

My '88 Targa is in need of a [complete] new exhaust system - and also taking the opportunity to do the heater flaps at the same time. I have some prices for s/s systems from a couple of suppliers, design911 and porscheshop, forest fine, to replace the system as close as possible. Any other suppliers that should be considered? I don't have a bottomless pocket though!

Whilst I like to do the odd bit of DIY on the 3.2, I am probably going to use a garage to remove the old bits and fit the new. Anyone had any experience of doing this themselves though? Some of the studs may be solid...and the heater flaps look quite a way up in the 'wings'.

Any information or best advice greatfully received!
Cheers.

You should contact Richard at Turbo Thomas for aircooled performance exhausts http://www.turbothomas.com/porsche.html
Check out www.impactbumpers.com he has helped out a lot of people .

Does the full Haywood and Scott system still require part of the exhaust removed to do the lower valve clearances?

Just to round off the post, eventually spoke to the local OPC in Byfleet - used to be Camtune - that I had visited earlier in the year with Surrey Region and got it sorted there. Looks good and was well looked after. Just need to wait for the weekend to get the targa top off and listen to some sweet sounds.

Happy motoring!
