I think the tube (from the silencer to the tip) is longer on facelift cars, so if you fit facelift tips to a pre-facelift car the tips will hang too low.

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if the tips from a standard facelift C2 (2003) will fit a pre-facelift car?
The newer ones are a fair bit bigger and nicer looking (in my opinion) but before I go buying new clamps etc I just wanted to see if anyone knows if they will fit the holes in my bumper?
Thanks
Guy

Did they fit them as well, and what did it end up costing you?ORIGINAL: gizmo750 Still, happy enough with the recent exhaust modification from Hayward & Scott - great sound now []

I bought a second hand set of back boxes (from a 2003 car hence the newer tips question and the earlier question of "are the boxes the same size etc" I also jumped on the group buy (a little cheekily) that a chap at Boxa.net set-up after I got tipped off about it. The replacement boxes were delivered straight to H&S and they did the mod then called me in. I drove down and they fitted the new boxes for me in about 2 hours. This included me asking lots of questions and poking about, coffee break and the angle grinding of many bolts. Still, all the bolts are nice new stainless ones now. They also polished up all the tips for me. Sadly they removed the newer tips and put the ones off my old boxes on as they didn't seem to fit (hence this latest question). Cost for this drive in / drive out service was £220 So, nice noises now - just old tips. Maybe I will buy some replacements. Are the tips from the facelift car worth putting on Ebay do you think?
Design 911 and they were 200 quid. you are looking at original ones for 300 quid, the 200 quid ones are nice.ORIGINAL: gizmo750 Jamma, where did you get them from? I've looked on Design911 and Porscheshop and I can't justify £300 for a set of exhaust tips!
