I was considering replacing mine as the previous owner had never cleaned it and although it appears to be stainless it is covered with black hardened soot deposits.

So I thought, lets buy a new one.

Then I saw the price of the cheaper of the two polished silver ones at Design911.

So I am halfway to replacing all the clamp bolts in stainless in order to get the original off & give it a clean.

The Fabspeed one is £458 - club discount + vat

I cannot find any other manufacturer of tailpipes for the boxster other than Fabspeed.

The cheaper one (above link) works out at £376 in total with discount

 
I have reversed into a bollard and dinted my twin tailpipe shall I replace with standard or modified?
 
Sounds like mine the chrome is all tarnished so don't mind a replacement I also think the black finish will enhance the rear end look ,I saw the fab speed but not too keen on modyfing though

 
I was wondering whether the grotty twin walled part could be cut off and simple stainless tube welded in its place. Harder if you only have the single end though.

 
If it's any help, I have a Velocity twin tailpipe from USA which had successfully fitted to my 987.2 Cayman S 3.4. It's a straight swap for the OE twin-tailpipe and has a better gas flow design The exhaust note is good also. It's a much heavier construction than the OE tail-pipe.

It's in very good condition but needs a clean-up and a spray with VHT exhaust paint.

Bought 2010 Boxster S gen 2 6 months ago . Fully detailed it and came to the chrome tailpipes which, as others have mentioned had discoloured spots which wouldn't shift.

A quick waft over with normal satin black from a rattle can, not high temp or any thing, they look great and are lasting well.They tone in better with the black 'diffuser' part as well.

PS I am tight though.😀
