I am now in a position that I have to replace the back box on my '86 951 (hooray!) It is currently standard, I have a promax stage 2 kit on the car now and would like a slightly noiser exhaust... but not quite Mark K red turbo loud!

Who has tried what and liked it?? And at what price??

Mine has a Dansk rear box (or possibly the whole lot), fitted by the previous owner. Sounds nice & meaty without being too annoying, scores 88dB on the Bedford Autodrome sound test so easily quiet enough for any trackday. Also looks standard. What's not to like? [:D]

Interesting. My standard (and original) exhaust scored 95dB at Bedford yesterday! Guess there isn't much of the insides left...

Have fitted the Dansk, very nice, looks stealth, sounds good at normal driving speeds but sounds great (not chavvy!!) when thrashed a wee bit. Probably just my imagination but the car seems faster too! Highly reccomended!

Around £200 (edited as the price seems to have gone up 20% since I last looked [&:] )

Bert at Berlyn stocks them at www.partsforporsche.co.uk and there is an Ebay Seller called Annantone who regularly advertises them.

One thing that confuses me is that I saw a discussion ( I think it was here) on the forum suggesting that the Dansk was definately a ' copy of the original' I.E it was not intended to and didnt sound sportier so there would be no point changing it for that reson alone ?

Is there any truth in this or did the people just get it wrong. I dont suppose Dansk make one that is 'sportier' and one that isnt do they ?

Cheers Mas

Janspeed iirc. Why is it confusing? Can a 'copy' not also be good? I've owned my car for 4yrs/35,000 miles & it was fitted before that, never had a single cause for complaint about it.

I think if you were going for all-out power there are other alternatives but as a SS replacement for the original exhaust I think it's great. With the benefit of hindsight it's just what I would have chosen had I bought it myself.

mine was from Porscheshop and cost £208 delivered

Is this the price for just the rear piece or the rear + middle? I've been given a price of £170 for the rear and £140 for the middle + £12 for delivery. Not sure if this is good or bad?

Mas, Dansk only list the one type of exhaust for our cars. There's no mention in their catalogue about it being a standard replacement part or a performance part. It is stainless steel though.
