Exhausts and wheels - two quick questions...

Ok Folks - see if you can help me with these two queries: Car - 2003 996 C2, five spoke Carrera alloys/ standard oval exhaust ends;
When I wash the car I don't like to leave the brake discs wet. I've recently had the car serviced (15k) and my independent told me to keep an eye on the discs as they are showing signs of slight corrosion (lack of use, apparently). With this in mind, I have now started to take the car for a short and slow spin to dry the discs off using the brakes after washing it. This works well, but I then get oily dirty water marks on the inside surface of the wheels which comes out of the discs. All my hard work is spoilt! I then resort to wiping them as best I can with a damp cloth. Other than using a hair drier, is there a better way of doing this?
I'd like to take the exhaust ends off to give them a really good clean and wax - do I just undo the large nut underneath each pipe and pull them off?
I'd be grateful for any ideas. Adrian.

Wash the car (not the wheels), then go and drive it to dry the brakes. Take off the wheels and clean them while they are off the car.
Exhaust tips are a pain to remove because of corroded brackets (if they are not stainless ones), have angle grinder on stand-by and 2 new clamps, perhaps you should push the boat out and buy some new stainless tips (design 911 do some nice ones)

Hot Hatch,
I've noticed you've plugged Design 911 quite a few times......you don't have any connection with them do you?

I had exactly this issue with the 997 S wheels, a real pain in the backside. Did the remove from car trick and dropped the front N/S onto it's face - that will be £85 then for the repair!!

I am considering painting them black to solve the problem.

Wheels off? Angle grinders? I am clearly well out my depth here. Thanks to all. Lovely looking motor nsm3! How about pink?! Ade.

Mmmmm...maybe, but I think that you can only get that particular shade in Hammerite Smooth - in which case you've going to loose that all-inportant hammered fininish, and smooth is just soooo TVR these days! Dulux may be able to mix something up for you - and B&Q do a great service. Failing that - Crayola!

There you go Adrian - just for you, what do you think?

I've seen the images of Man walking on the moon - sometimes I still have my doubts... I've watched re-runs of Maradonna's "hand of God" goal - he's guilty. I've seen my cat (Pepper) turn his nose up at tinned salmon - unbelievable! This is too much to take in! I was only joking! Adrian.
