Exhausts

I am about to replace part of my exhaust system; the cat bypass and the left to right connecting pipe (from cat bypass to exit silencer). I realise there are a few options, but I don't want to change from single to double exits, otherwise I'm open to suggestions. I am not too worried about noise levels (I don't use the car on track).

The parts I refer to are ready for replacement (very rusty). I am thinking of getting something made by Hayward and Scott in stainless steel, the options are straight replacements or an entirely different silencer which runs across the back of the car and exits on the offside and thus does away with the final standard silencer.

Any thoughts?

I run Cat bypass and a G-pipe. Just standard replacement parts, nothing too fancy. I think the Cat bypass can be bought for around £90 and G-pipe the same.

Sounds fantastic, not really any use for track..would need one of those muffler's that attaches to the tailpipe.

Be carefull although surface rust you may lose that wonderful sound when replacing exhaust.
The car always sounded slightly different than other RS's
Great to see you for the short time at Eynsham

Thanks for the message. Yes, it was good to meet up at Eynsham.

Unfortunately, the surface rust has become holes (which are patched/bodged at the moment), so I do need to invest in a replacement.

Best regards.

I meant any reason for why you don't take on track?

The set up I used to have was cat bypass plus cup pipe followed by last box...sounded fantastic, not too expensive. Never had the G pipe with my set up.
